Boone, North Carolina

in the USA serves up some of the best road riding you’ll find anywhere in the World – just be sure to pack your Lightweights and bring your climbing legs…

Switchbacks are de rigueur in the hills of NC

Go with flow

Here’s great loop we did on 4th July. Just over 100km and 1200m of climbing, inlcuding a great climb up the 194 from Valle Crucis to Banner Elk and some of the most flowing decending you could dream off. http://www.mapmyride.com/ride/united-states/nc/boone/753127834908585912

Off the beaten tarmac

150km, 7 categorized climbs totaling over 2500m including Blackberry Road, Snake Mountain, Georges Gap and finishing on Tater Road’s 24% pitches – what’s for dinner?

The Viaduct is the comand room

Any ride that includes the Blue Ridge Parkway and it’s infamous Viaduct high on Grandfather Mountain, is a good one. Most routes that locals ride in the Boone area will visit this glorious vista. Here’s a classic starting point as used by the ‘fast’ bunch ride leaving outside Boone Bike and Touring shop every Tuesday, 6pm:-http://www.mapmyride.com/ride/united-states/nc/boone/947127729811641121
